Becoming a therapist is a process. In Connecticut, there are many requirements that you will have to meet before you can get your license to practice. You will also be required to pass the national councilor examination for licensure and certification, or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling examination, these must be administered by the National Board, if you have not passed this, and you wish to take this you must complete the form that can be found on their website.

Connecticut also requires that you meet the application requirements. These include things like a fee, having your application notarized, and turning in your transcripts from your education. If you are transferring from a different state you must have a verification form sent from the state that you are coming from. This will help the state to ensure that you are actually licensed in another area. You may have to meet further requirements if the state you were previously licensed in does not have the same standards that are prevalent in Connecticut.
