Illinois is also home of one of the United State's most notable presidents. The country's 16th president called the town of Springfield home. Monuments and reminders of Abraham Lincoln are present throughout the state, but no more so than in Springfield, where the Lincoln Home stands as a reminder of the past. Springfield is also home to the Lincoln Tomb and Old State Capitol, which has been restored.
